It is not ten major events that sanctify us, but ten thousand small ones. The frustrations, inconveniences, annoyances, day in and day out tasks...these are what shape us and show us what is in our hearts. We cannot discount these "minor trials" as being random and meaningless. How we choose to handle them is imperative to our transformation.
"In everything a mother does, she is teaching her children. her little ways will be remembered the most, for they most accurately communicate character and commitment, faith, hope, strength, and love. She is a model to her children of how to embrace the day, respond to circumstances, manage emotions, enjoy both work and play. They will imitate her attitude toward life and will likely become what she believes them to be." -Mothering Upstream
