This concept has changed the way I praise my kids when they have done the right thing. Rather than only saying, "Good job for obeying, Emmaline! You are such a good girl!", I try to focus the praise on Christ and say, "Thank you, Lord for giving Emmaline the strength to obey and for working in her heart!"
The worst thing we can do to our kids is make them rely on themselves to do good and never consider the fact that without Christ, they can do nothing.
